Rgs,

An

An

Hi Brian,

I hope my e-mail find you all well!

Had a request from a German production company, they are looking for a girl (8-10y old) living on a house boat/in a floating village in Vietnam. The girl should be the main character of a 30min documentary for the public German/Austrian/Swiss children’s channel KiKa, we would need her to show us here daily live, family, school.

As Plan has is running the campaign "I’m a girl", I thought that you maybe know a project that also involves a floating school or village which could help us finding a family/girl for the film in VN.

Here some more information from the production company:

1. it is a documentary for children from the point of view of another child (our main actor or main actress),
he/she shows how he/she lives, what he/she dos and like, which wishes they have,
maybe they are specialized in something, but in our case in Vietnam, the idea is, to follow the girl /boy on her/his way through the daily life. Because children in other parts of the world (and Germany) don`t know how children live in floating villages.

2. Adults as parents, teachers etc. never talk ABOUT the children. They act and react with them in some situations, but mostely the children talk about themselves, alone or together with friends.

3. if there is a problem in the childs life, he/she should reflect and talk about it. But there is never a reflection about the surrounding of its life, a social or a political situation from the point of view of an adult or the filmmaker

4. The film will be shown in Germany, Austria, Switzerland on TV, maybe in other European Countries and on (children) film festivals.

If you have any idea please let me know.

We are enjoying Prague a lot, many Vietnamese with there restaurants here, so our memories are often back in Hanoi and a nice Pho in our stomach :)

Say hello to the brave new kids cloth designer Roz and the kids!

Wolfgang
