[Disability-vn] Invitation to INSPIRE RUN @ Co Loa Citadel on 22/9

Dear friends,

 

In September 2012, East Meets West Foundation (EMW) is working in cooperation with the Hanoi Hash House Harriers <http://www.hanoih3.com/>  and Sporting Republic <http://www.sportingrepublic.com/>  to organize two unique running events in order to promote the social inclusion of people with disabilities in Vietnam. Proceeds from the contest will benefit EMW’s INSPIRE Sports program in Quang Tri Province, which assists people with disabilities through inclusive sports and recreational activities.

 

The events also provide an opportunity for aspiring photographers to shoot images of people with disabilities in sports ahead of the INSPIRE <http://www.eastmeetswest.org/page.aspx?pid=702>  Sports Photo Contest deadline (October 8th). The photo contest, organized by The British Embassy in Vietnam and East Meets West, aims to compile the most stunning photos of disabled athletes in inclusive sports and recreation in Vietnam for a photo exhibition.

For the time being, I’d like to invite all of you to our special event named INSPIRE RUN which is on 22 Sep, 2012 at Co Loa Citadel. Details of the event are as follow:

·         Time: 15:00 September 22, 2012

·         Location: Co Loa Citadel, Dong Anh District, Hanoi

·         The course: compiles of 12 km running and 5 km jogging in total, and is wheelchair accessible

·         There will be bus service to pick up runners at the American Club, 21 Hai Ba Trung street, at 13:30 on the day.

·         Fee: 250,000 VND/ adult; 150,000/kid 6-12 years old; free for kid under 5 and people with disabilities.(including bus fee, T-shirt & hat, water and other organizational fees, but not including dinner at Dien Luc Hotel). 

 

Part of the participation fee will be used to raise funds for INSPIRE Sports program. All funds raised from this event will be used to buy sports equipments for inclusive sports clubs of people with disabilities in Quang Tri, with an aim to encourage and enable disabled people to practice sports more regularly.

 

Paralympians from Hanoi and people with disabilities able to use wheelchair are also attending the event.
