Dear all,

I would like to share you some update of the health sector in response to this event: (According to report of MoH and District Hospital Sapa, as of 12 Sept)

* Local health response:
- District hospital SAPA sent emergency team to the spot about one hour after the event and together with local health to conduct first aid, triad and transfer severe victims to district hospitals. To day, all injured victims have got well recover and will be discharged soon.
- Surveillance of risks to public health in affected communities, such as infectious diseases, drinking water, food safety, and sanitation is being strengthened.
- Efforts have being conducted to recover health care facilities damaged. A plan to rebuild these health facilities has been discussed. Currently local health care services are still temporarily in public house of the commune

* Central MoH
- Closely monitor to direct recovery
- Already distributed through Department of Health Lao Cai: 70 emergency Medicine units; 150,000 tabs of Aquatabs; 100 water filters; and 200 life vests.
* The health situation is under control of district health sectors. So no further emergency health request is sent to higher health sector.
