[dmwg] Contribution to the Post-2015 Framework for DRR (HFA2)

Dear colleagues,

UNISDR Asia Pacific Office is calling for contributions from the national and local governments, civil society organizations, academia, businesses, regional organizations and stakeholder groups to document the achievements and learning of the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA1) in Asia Pacific and to prepare the region's inputs for the Post-2015 Framework for DRR (HFA2).

The Disaster Management Center has decided to prepare a submission to this process.  Based on an initial review of the seven focus areas, the following two areas have been provisionally recommended to be prioritized in HFA2:


1.       Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Integration, and

2.       Building community resilience: turning vulnerability into resilience
To support this process, the DMC has prepared a questionnaire response and case study on each of these areas (attached). It would be highly appreciated if your organization could review the attached papers and provide us your comments, insights and suggested additions by replying to this email by 19 Jan 2014.
