[dmwg] Reminder: UNDRMT Inter-agency consultation - regional preparation for World Humanitarian Summit 2016

Dear Disaster Risk Management Colleagues,


You are cordially invited to United Nations Inter-Agency technical consultation meeting toward North and South-East Asia regional preparation for the first ever World Humanitarian Summit in May 2016.



The objective of the consultation is to consolidate the perspectives and recommendations of the humanitarian and development community in Viet Nam primarily on the four themes of the World Humanitarian Summit: 1. humanitarian effectiveness; 2. reducing vulnerability, managing risk; 3. transformation through innovation; and 4. serving the needs of people in conflict. Results from the consultation will be reported to the regional consultation workshop on 23-24 July 2014 to be held in Japan.



The UN Disaster Risk Management Team in Viet Nam would like to request for your participation into this technical discussion. The meeting will take place at 10am on the 29th of May, 2014 in the Rose Room of the UNDP Compound, 72 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi. We enclose herewith the agenda and background papers of the world humanitarian summit preparation for your kind reference.
