<span lang="EN-US">2013 Viet Nam Climate-Related Disaster Profile</span></span></a></span></b></span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D"> was compiled by the UN Disaster Risk Management Secretariat and reviewed by the
UN DRM Team. It provides information on </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">climate related</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D"> disasters faced by Viet Nam in 2013
and lessons learned. According to the annual reviews of the Viet Nam National Committee for Search and Rescue and the Central Committee for Flood and Storm Control, 2013 witnessed the highest number of recorded storm occurrences in the past 50 years.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#1F497D"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#1F497D">The

</b>is a result of increasing forecasts of the possibility of a severe El Ni�o phenomenon occurring from mid 2014 onwards across the Asia and Pacific region. This product has been created by OCHA to generate and maintain awareness of the evolving dimensions
of the El Ni�o phenomenon.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
