<p class="MsoNormal">As previously mentioned, kindly note that MARD and FAO are rolling out an
<b>Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC)</b> in Vietnam in the coming 2 months.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:windowtext"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="Pa0" style="margin-bottom:5.0pt"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The IPC is a set of analytical tools, and processes, to analyze and classify the severity of acute and chronic food insecurity situation according to
scientific international standards. It aims at providing decision makers with a rigorous analysis of food insecurity in both emergency and development contexts, and key objectives for response to better coordinate the interventions.

<p class="Default"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:windowtext">In consultation with MARD, it was decided to roll out a small IPC for acute food insecurity in 2 provinces most affected by drought: Gia Lai and Ca Mau</span>.
<span style="font-size:11.5pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:windowtext">
The idea is to start small to eventually roll out an IPC at national level for both acute and chronic food insecurity at a later stage.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
