The Position
 
Capstone Vietnam seeks an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced professional to fill the position of Regional Outreach Coordinator (ROC) for Lane Community College.  This individual will lead the way in promoting this highly regarded U.S. community college throughout Vietnam, as well as regionally. While the incumbent will report to LCC, s/he will be employed by Capstone Vietnam. 
 
About Lane Community College
 
Lane Community College is a comprehensive community college located in Eugene, Oregon.  The college offers a wide variety of instructional programs including transfer credit programs, career and technical degree and certificate programs, continuing education noncredit courses, programs in English as a Second Language and International ESL, GED programs, and customized training for local businesses.  More than 36,000 students take credit or noncredit classes at Lane each year. Lane has the third largest enrollment of the 17 community colleges in Oregon.
 

 
One of the advantages of attending Lane is living in Eugene, a city known for its quality of life and for being the home of the University of Oregon. Eugene is home to more than 153,000 people and neighboring Springfield has more than 57,000 residents comprise the second largest population center in the state. Eugene and Springfield are nestled in the Willamette Valley between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities (based on a 44 hour work week)
 
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
 
 Vietnam Outreach and Recruitment (50%)
 
Advising and support for students from beginning to end (i.e., information about LCC, application process, visa counseling)
Translate promotional materials
Develop a Vietnamese website for LCC
Schedule on- and offline office hours
Meetings with students/parents/alumni
Prepare and deliver on- and offsite information sessions at high schools, English language centers, English clubs, etc.
Develop partnerships with a select group of high schools
Monitor activities of education agents
Identify other opportunities for LCC in Vietnam
 
 Travel to Fairs in Other Markets (25%)
 
Participate in US and overseas higher education fairs in other countries
 
 Outreach to Other Markets (25%)
 
Develop and coordinate marketing strategies to promote LCC in other markets
Design, implement, and monitor on- and offline marketing activities
Develop partnerships with a select group of high schools
Monitor activities of education agents (if applicable)
 
 Other
 
Other tasks, as assigned by LCC’s director of international programs and Capstone’s managing director
In addition your formal supervisory relationships, you will be working on a regular basis with Capstone staff, including the deputy director, office manager and accountant. 
 
Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills)
 
Bachelor’s degree; MA preferred
Overseas-educated preferred
At least two years of relevant professional experience
Fluency in English
A solid understanding of the U.S. higher education system.
Good computer skills (e.g., MS Office)
Demonstrated management experience and skills
Detailed-oriented and the ability to work in a fast-paced multitasking environment
Flexibility, initiative and good problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and cross-cultural skills
