Điểm khởi đầu của quá trình chăm sóc điều trị HIV là tư vấn và xét nghiệm HIV. Việt Nam đã mở rộng thành công điều trị ARV; tuy nhiên, hiểu biết về xét nghiệm HIV trong các quần thể đich vẫn còn ở mức thấp. Nhiều cá nhân nhận biết được tình trạng nhiễm HIV
của mình ở giai đoạn tiến triển, dẫn đến nguy cơ mắc bênh và tử vong cao hơn, và làm tăng khả năng lây truyền HIV.<br>

Chuyên đề này mở ra diễn đàn trình bày và thảo luận để xem lại những bài học của Việt Nam và của khu vực về sự tham gia của cộng đồng vào tư vấn và xét nghiệm HIV để mở rộng các phương pháp mới và hiệu quả của công tác tư vấn và xét nghiệm HIV dựa vào cộng
đồng.<br>
