[REMINDER] VIE/027 Project: International Workshop on Performance Based Financing (PBF) in Health - Sharing Regional Experiences in Southeast Asia

In recent years, a number of countries of the Southeast Asia region have
been experimenting with performance based financing (PBF) mechanism in
health sector.  Approaches and methods of PBF in health differ, however all
of them share the main objective of improving performance of health service
providers (health facilities) reaching priority populations with health
services of need and with services of higher quality.



Vietnam has been witnessing two co-exiting pilot initiatives (in Nghe An
province with support from the World Bank and in Cao Bang and Bac Kan
provinces with support from Lux Development) in the last 2 years.



VIE/027 Project proposes a Workshop to seek to be an international
information dissemination event: a practice exchange forum where
stakeholders and participants can share their experience and learn from
each other. It will be learning to compare developed PBF systems, define
their similarities and differences in of design, methodology and
effects/impact.



The Workshop also intends to serve a special purpose for Vietnam
stakeholders: based on regional experience and lessons from the two pilot
initiatives to start national level consultations on the rationale and
options of sustaining PBF in the health sector.



*Intended participants/audience:*



*International guests/participants: *represent MOH, other key implementing
parties and donor agencies supporting the PBF implementation in health



*VIE participants:*



*Domestic: *Ministry of Health; Vietnam Social Security (VSS); Provincial
Department of Health (Nghe An, Cao Bang, Bac Kan); Provincial VSS (Nghe An,
Cao Bang, Bac Kan); representatives of pilot districts Nghe An, Cao Bang,
Bac Kan); representatives of pilot facilities (especially those with poster
presentations of their work)



*International: *Lux Development; World Bank; EU, WHO, UN; VIE/027 project
team; project Central North Region Health Support Project (CNRHSP) team; EU
Health Facility project team



*Workshop Agenda:*

The event is envisaged for one day and a half, on 22 & 23 October 2015 in
Hanoi, Vietnam. Please find detailed agenda in the attached file.



*Logistics:*



*There will be no fee to pay for attending the Workshop, and lunches and
coffee breaks will be provided free of charge.* However, travel and
accommodation expenses will be the responsibility of participants.
