UNDP Viet Nam is seeking an International Consultant to conduct a study on the market opportunities available for financial institutions and service providers with the aim to promote sustainable industrial production in steel and chemical fertilizer sector for project "Strengthening capacity on climate change initiatives in the Industry and Trade sectors"

The assignment consists of undertaking a study on the market opportunities available, identify capacity needs and recommend solutions both from supply and demand side. Therefore, the study will examine:

i)             from the perspective of commercial financial institutions - local and international practices (in providing loans and funding models for sustainable low carbon industrial production) to identify policy/capacity needs and recommend solutions in promoting loans for sustainable industrial production in Vietnam, and
ii)            from the perspective of service providers -business models (in house department in large enterprises or external consultancies), financing used (project-based, equity, third party) and service delivery (audits, performance based contracts, equipment and chemical leasing arrangements) to identify capacity/policy needs and recommend solutions/actions to address the needs.

The estimated duration of the assignment is for 25 work days total with one 5 day mission to Viet Nam in Q II and III 2014
