Following my email in early November, we have received two nominations
for the new Steering Committee member at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre:
1. Ms. Deborah Leaver, Country Director at ChildFund Vietnam
2. Ms. Hannah Bryce, Country Programme Manager at Mines Advisory Group
Vietnam
Please cast your electronic vote by selecting one candidate and replying
to <director at ngocentre.org.vn> before Friday 26 November 2010. You will
also be able to vote directly at the INGO Forum this Friday at 15:00
hrs. We will take into account all electronic votes collected by Friday
noon and combine them with your direct votes at the INGO Forum. Please
note that only INGO members of the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre will be
eligible to vote. Also note that each organization can cast only one (1)
vote, either electronically or directly. In order to make your decision
easier, we have enclosed short biographies for both candidates below:

Deborah Leaver is the Country Director for ChildFund Vietnam and has
worked extensively in South East Asia since 2000. Prior to working for
ChildFund Vietnam Deborah spent five years working for Action Aid as a
Country Director and as an International Director specialising in
international emergencies and conflict, protection and civil society
strengthening. Deborah has significant experience working in conflict
and emergencies, including responding to the South Asia tsunami in 2004,
Pakistan earthquake in 2005, Cyclone Nargis in 2008 and ongoing work in
the occupied Palestinian Territories and Gaza. Deborah has managed a
range of programs in indigenous Australia, Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
She holds Bachelor degrees in Arts and Commerce and a Masters Degree in
International Development.

Hannah Bryce moved to Vietnam in 2010 to take up the role of Country
Programme Manager with the Mines Advisory Group (MAG). Before moving to
Vietnam Hannah had spent the previous 4 years working in Sudan, first
with GOAL, an NGO focusing on primary health care, water and sanitation
and livelihoods project, and then with Mines Advisory Group (MAG) as a
Programme Officer and Project Manager. Before moving to Sudan Hannah was
based in London working with a private company which were outsourced by
DFID as their Health Resource Centre. Hannah has a LLB in law and a
Graduate Diploma in International Development, both from the LSE.
