[ingodirectors] Regular Membership Fees 2010

Dear Members,



Last week we emailed invoices for 2010 membership to your senior staff.
Traditionally we release invoices earlier in the year. This year we
postponed payments due to our request for 'emergency support' sent to you in
April 2010. Please allow me to express my sincere gratitude to the 44 INGO
members who have helped the centre during the crisis.



If you have already paid your regular membership fee for 2010, please ignore
this email. If your senior staff have not received the invoice please
contact Ms. Ha Ngan Giang at <administrator at ngocentre.org.vn>. Starting this
year we will be sending invoices via email. Please note that they will
include an electronic signature. If such an invoice is not sufficient for
your financial records, please let us know and we will provide a signed hard
copy.



The new membership rates were approved by the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre
Steering Committee on 15 April 2010. At the INGO Forum which followed
shortly after we explained the reasons for this significant change. Since
some members were not able to join the forum we posted detailed minutes at
the link below. Please take a moment to read the minutes and review two

Following your suggestions we have worked very hard since April to implement
some positive changes in our work. The centre is a public good for which
there is often no incentive to pay. However, we keep trying to find the
right balance between what we charge for and what we may lose access to (if
we start charging), such as information about events and job vacancies. Many
of the services offered for free create information that is also valuable
for members. At the same time, we have intensified our efforts to make a
distinction between services for members and non-members. The most recent
example is the new online INGO Directory, to which members will have full
access. A short simplified view will be available to the general public. We
will be sending a separate email with instructions on how to fully access
the online directory in the next couple of days.



The new fees are based on the annual budget figures provided by your staff
for the online INGO Directory. For those of you who have decided not to
disclose this information we have used the old rates as the basis for new
fees. Please contact me directly at <director at ngocentre.org.vn> if your
situation has changed and you would like to adjust the amount. We already
received several inquiries to which I will reply separately. Do not hesitate
to contact me if you need any further clarification.
