[ingodirectors] CALL for ELECTIONS: Member of the NGO Resource Centre Steering Committee

Dear INGO directors:

Following our recent call for nominations, we received three
nominations -within deadline- for a new member of the VUFO-NGO
Resource Centre's Steering Committee. One of the nominees did not
accept the candidacy; so there will be two eligible candidates for
election. Kindly note that each organisation can give one vote. Please
select ONE (1) of the nominees below and cast your electronic vote by
sending a short email to <director at ngocentre.org.vn> before Friday 4
Dec 2015:

1. Ms. Huyen Thu Tran, National Director at World Vision Vietnam
2. Ms. Babeth Ngoc Han Lefur, Country Director at Oxfam Vietnam

For those of you who may have not met Huyen or Babeth, here are their
summarised professional biographies:

Huyen has worked for World Vision in Vietnam for 21 years. She
oversees an annual budget of 20 million US dollars, 56 programs and
projects operating in 15 provinces. Although Huyen has been officially
appointed as National Director in September 2015, she was Acting
National Director for several extended periods over the past 6 years.
She held various top leadership positions in Government Relations,
Human Resources, and Security and Administration. Huyen is a strategic
and mature leader with excellent understanding of local context,
particularly experienced in Government Relations, able to make
difficult decisions, passionate and committed to her job. A graduate
of the Eastern University, St. David’s Pennsylvania, USA, Huyen has an
MBA specialised in Leadership and Development. She also holds a
Bachelor of Law from Hanoi University. Huyen has lived and studied in
Moscow, former Soviet Union. Prior to World Vision, she worked at the
Embassy of Palestine in Hanoi and taught at the Sports College in
Vietnam.

Babeth has been country director for Oxfam in Vietnam since July 2014.
She has a BA in social economics and a MA in development anthropology.
Babeth has over 20 years experience in programme development,
management and action research work, mostly in Southeast Asia, in the
field of rural livelihoods in ethnic minority mountainous areas,
gender, governance and civil society. With Oxfam since 2004, she has
managed a regional portfolio including China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos
and Myanmar, she has been Oxfam East Asia Gender Justice lead for four
years developing gender mainstreaming and women leadership strategy.
Over the past five years she has taken up broader management roles, as
Southeast Asia regional director (with Oxfam Netherlands) providing
leadership and management across field-based and head office based
teams; and, leading a programme and a campaign team that implements an
Oxfam Global Initiative for Agricultural Biodiversity, Food Security
and Climate Justice.
