Dear Members and Friends:

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre Newsletter for 6 - 31 May 2012. 
We would like to announce several changes amongst the key staff of the 
VUFO-NGO Resource Centre:

May 2012 was the last month of work for our Administrator Ms. Giang Ngan 
Ha, who has left the centre to join her husband and family in a posting 
in Indonesia. As the longest serving staff member of the VUFO-NGO 
Resource Centre Ms. Ngan Ha has contributed greatly to our work. We will 
miss her greatly and we wish her all the best!

We are happy to announce the recent appointment of Mr. Arthur Hanlon, 
our new Communications Advisor, recruited through Australian Volunteers 
International. Arthur has worked in journalism, public affairs and 
government media relations in Australia, the United Kingdom and South 
Africa. He has extensive experience in newspaper and magazine 
publishing, editing, writing for broadcast, and communications 
strategies for government. Arthur comes to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre 
following 10 years as Communications Director of a major development 
agency of the Western Australian Government. Feel free to contact Arthur 
at <communications at ngocentre.org.vn> and he will be happy to assist you 
with all communications issues.

We are also pleased to announce that Ms. Bui Thi Kim Ngan began working 
at the centre as our new Administrator, replacing Ms Giang Ngan Ha. Ms. 
Ngan comes with more than seven years of professional experience working 
with ActionAid, Save the Children, Danish Development Assistance 
Programmes and Netherlands Development Organization in Vietnam. Please 
join us in welcoming Ngan to our team!

Latter-Day Saint Charities (LDSC) has changed its Country Director in 
Vietnam. Mr. Ullrich Michel left this position on May 15 and Mr. Bruce 
Jones, together with Ms. Kathy Jones, succeeded him. The email address 
for LDSC's new Country Director is <sbkjones at aol.com>

There are three Working Groups' meetings scheduled for the second half 
of May 2012:

* Disability Working Group on 23 May at 2:00 PM;

* Disaster Management Working Group on 25 May at 2:00 PM;

* Ethnic Minorities Working Group on 29 May at 3:00 PM.

All the meetings will take place at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. Please 
check the 'Calendar of Events' section on our home page for the latest 
updates and possible changes.
