Dear colleagues and friends,

UNDP Vietnam seeks for qualified International Consultant for the Project "Climate Resilient Infrastructure Planning and Rural Development in Vietnam Northern Mountains".

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Asian Development Bank are jointly formulating a project entitled "Climate Resilient Infrastructure Planning and Rural Development in Vietnam Northern Mountains" for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). The project will be funded by Global Environment facility (GEF).

The assignment is aimed at preparing a full-size project document in line with an approved Project Identification Form (PIF) that has been submitted to the Global Environment Facility (GEF) administered Strategic Climate Change Fund (SCCF). The Project will provide additional resources necessary to ensure that rural infrastructure development in the northern mountain areas takes into account risks associated with climate change, particularly in terms of the incidence of increased flooding and landslides, as well as change rainfall and humidity.  It will include pilot testing of new designs, capacity building activities and a policy development component to inform future rural development thinking and practices.
