�Follow-up and support to the implementation of Vietnam�s Universal Periodic Review recommendations: Increasing Vietnam�s human rights capacities�.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;color:#333333">In Viet Nam, human rights implementation is a shared task among different organs of the whole political system. At the initial stage, the task of
preparing national reports and following up on reports was undertaken by MOFA. At present, this task is entrusted to relevant ministries/agency, namely MOLISA, MPI, CEMA.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;color:#333333">This institutional change should be supported by relevant capacity building activities. A shift in awareness and understanding, as well as improvement
of capacity of relevant ministries/agencies with regard to the obligations under various human rights treaties would ensure better performance by Viet Nam, by the focal and all relevant ministries/agencies of their respective tasks and responsibilities.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:10.0pt;color:#333333">In this context, in early 2013, after successful completion of the project �Capacity building for Implementation of International Human Rights Treaties
in Viet Nam�, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNDP developed a new project titled
<b>�<i>Follow-up and support to the implementation of Vietnam�s Universal Periodic Review recommendations: Increasing Vietnam�s human rights capacities</i></b>�.
