Dear Amy,

Thanks for your email.

FFAV has a program for students to volunteer with us, and a special internship program for the best volunteers.

Currently we have ca 60 volunteers and 2 interns (most of them coming from the University in Hue, section for foreign languages). 2 of the full time staff also have background as volunteers, one of them being promoted to head of administration department this coming Monday!

In fact, almost all of our full time staff have been recruited without much formal background. We believe in capacity building through work, and try to give local people a chance. External training as well as inhouse training are used.

We are not looking for any staff at the moment, and probably will not do so in the coming years, part time or full time, unless we can find new sources of income. If we have part time work in periods, we offer this to the most eager volunteers or interns.

So, the eventual way in for your student(s) is through volunteering first. FFAV have one designated staff for the volunteers, and currently this position is held by the only expat besides me in the office, Mr Eddy Stagg. Tell your student(s) to contact him for more information.

We are always looking for talent. :-)

With kind regards,
Anders

Hello All-

I am at teacher at Hue University College of Foreign Languages. A student of mine recently graduated from the English Department but has been unable to find a job as yet. She is interested in working in an NGO in Hue. Her English is quite good and she's a wonderful and bright girl. She has previous experience working with Hue Help.

If you or any other organizations you know of are looking for someone (even on a part-time basis), please contact me (Amy) as soon as possible. <mailto:amb7aa at virginia.edu> amb7aa at virginia.edu<mailto:amb7aa at virginia.edu>.

Thanks for your consideration,
Amy
