[Ngo-lwg] VNMAC asking for inputs from LWG members to the 5-year review of Program 504

Dear LWG members,

 

Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) is planning for a 5-year review
of the implementation of the National Mine Action Program (Program 504). The
review will cover the efforts made by the Vietnamese government as well as
domestic and international non-governmental organizations. Thus, VNMAC is
sending out the letter to ask for members of the landmine working group to
share results of your works in the five year period (2010-2015) and your
plan in the next five years (2016-2010). VNMAC expect to receive LWG
members’ inputs by 15 October, 2015.

 

IC-VVAF is asked by VNMAC to circulate this letter to the LWG through NGO
resource center LWG mailing list. The original letter in Vietnamese and its
translation are attached for your reference. 

 

Information should be sent to External Relations Department of VNMAC, 290
Lac Long Quan, Hanoi or to email of 504 office at  office504.uxo at gmail.com.

Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) would like to send to you our
warmest regards and propose the following request:

Following the 2015 work plan of the National Steering Committee on National
Mine Action Program in Vietnam (a.k.a Program 504), VNMAC is in
collaboration with relevant stakeholders to conduct evaluation on the
5-year-implementation of Program 504 and develop the work plan for period
2016-2020. Among which, the updating and evaluating the results of
Government investment and the support of international community, including
all INGOs involved in this sector, is an important content.

 

Therefore, VNMAC would like to request you to provide updated information on
your support to Vietnam for period 2010-2015 and your plan for the next
period 2016-2020. Depending on area of expertise of your organizations,
information include but not limit to annual budget/equipment for clearance
and/or total clearance area, victim assistance, mine risk education,
capacity building, etc…

 

We highly appreciate your cooperation and hope to receive your updated
information before 15th October 2015.
