*Dear LWG members,

*
*We hope all LWG member organizations have received the below email from
504 Office dated 30 March, which has two objectives:

(1) Sharing the summary report of the 1st MAPG meeting on 15 March 2017,
and
(2) Reminding partners to register for participation in the MAPG.

Kindly let us know, in case you haven't received the email.

*As discussed in the last meeting of LWG in January 2017, we encourage
all LWG members to register to the MAPG.

This is the very first forum established by Vietnamese Government aiming
at facilitating two-way communication and information sharing between
the Government of Vietnam, Development Partners and other concerned
stakeholders in mine action field. Through this forum the Vietnamese
Government expects to build understanding and mutual trust among
stakeholders, ensure transparency and enhance accountability for mine
action in Vietnam.

LWG members have been playing vital role in ensuring the effectiveness
of international support to mine action in Vietnam in the last two
decades, we believe the voice of every LWG member organization, through
this partnership forum, is significant to make Vietnam mine action
community achieving the above mentioned goal.

Pls. find attached the Registration Form, in which the deadline has been
pushed back to 5th April. In case you wish to participate in a thematic
group, pls. fill in so, and name the subject you are interested in, or
you see the need for.

===================================================================================

Dear friends and partners,

We'd like to thank you for your participation at the First Meeting of
the Mine Action Partnership Group (MAPG) on 15 March 2017, co-chaired by
Vice Minister of MPI Nguyen The Phuong and US Ambassador to Vietnam, Ted
Osius.

Pls. Find attached the draft summary report of the meeting, for your
comments if any.

The meeting received more than one hundred participants from Government
agencies, provincial authorities, Embassies, UN agencies, civil society,
local and international organizations and media agencies. We see this a
good start for the MAPG, which aims at creating an open forum for
information sharing among national and international partners who have
concerns about the impact of ERW toward development in Vietnam. We
acknowledge the suggestions and comments made by the participants at the
meeting and will incorporate them into the work agenda of MAPG in 2017.

To continue this momentum, we look forward to receiving your expression
of interest in participating in MAPG, by filing the attached
Registration Form, *by 5th April 2017. *

We will keep you updated with further activities of the Group for your
participation and supports.

Thank you and With Best Regards,

On behalf of the Secretariat of MAPG

Dang Van Dong

Deputy General Director of Vietnam Mine National Action Center (VNMAC)
