Workshop invitation: "Introduction to the M&E system for Climate change adaptation (CCA) in the agricultural sector in Vietnam"

Dear Sir or Madam,

The GIZ project "Support to Vietnam for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement" (short: "SIPA") assists the Vietnamese government (i.e., MONRE, MARD, MOC, MOT and MPI) in the implementation of its climate change targets in the context of the Paris Agreement, as laid out in its NDC.
Vietnam is constantly shaping an ambitious climate change framework as communicated through the updated NDC targets, the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) and the latest COP26 commitments. The VN-SIPA project is supporting MARD in the establishment of an agricultural M&E system for climate change adaptation, in cooperation with UNDP. In 2021, the main focus of the cooperation was to prepare a methodological and conceptual design for the adaptation system and the development of a set of indicators. This support is currently continued by testing and refining the set of indicators in cooperation with the provinces of Vietnam, by upgrading the IT system of MARD to integrate the climate change adaptation module, and by developing an artificial intelligence tool to access information from climate change reports. In a broader sense, this activity aims to support the setting-up of a systematic tracking system for the progress on the adaption component within the Vietnam NDC and other sectoral climate goals.
A workshop will be held to introduce and consult on the CCA M&E indicators, the sectoral database and the application of AI tools. Be part of the conversation that contributes to a robust and feasible adaptation M&E system for the agriculture sector in Vietnam.
