<div>US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker led a business delegation
to meet with Vietnamese leaders and her counterpart in Hanoi on Monday.</div>
<div><br>Pritzker met with Vietnam’s President Truong Tan Sang, Prime
Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang
during her one-day visit to push negotiations for the Trans Pacific
Partnership, a 12-nation trade pact.</div>
<div><br>Traveling with her were the CEOs and board chairpersons of the US'
leading business groups ACE, Qualcomm and Mead Johnson Nutrition, who
also met with officials from the finance, investment ministries and the
Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.</div>
<div><br>Both sides also discussed measures to enhance bilateral trade as
the countries prepare to mark 20 years of normalized relations next
year.</div>
<div><br>Alexander Feldman, President & CEO of the US-ASEAN Business
Council, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that Pritzker’s visit also aims
to underscore the confidence of the US business community in the
economic development potential in Southeast Asia and reiterate US
companies’ commitments in the region.</div>
<div><br>The delegation will continue on to the Philippines after departing Vietnam.</div>
