between 1995 and 2011, 290,740 farmer suicides had taken place due to
economic failure, poverty and bankruptcy caused by adoption of GMO seeds and technology. The nearly 300,000 farmer suicides are a direct result of mounting debt and crop failures
associated with GMO crops, and mainly cotton crops that were forcibly
