[Ngo Climate Change] Call for Papers for International Workshop on "Economics of Climate Change and Policy Implications for Vietnam"

Dear colleagues,



*In order to enhance the exchange on the role and significance of Economics
of Climate Change (ECC) in teaching, researching and making policy, with
the sponsor of Ausaid Alumni, the National Economics University (NEU) will
organize an international workshop on:*

*ECONOMICS OF CLIMATE CHANGE*

*AND*

*POLICY IMPLICATIONS FOR VIETNAM*

*Objectives of workshop:*

ü      To discuss and exchange theoretical and practical issues related to
ECC in the world and Vietnam;

ü      To identify and recommend research orientation on ECC and policy
implications;

ü      To collect suggestions for developing ECC curriculums at the NEU.

*Participants:** **approximately 200 participants are expected to attend
the workshop. These participants are coming from state agencies,
universities, research institutions, international organizations, NGOs and
those concerning to ECC in* *Vietnam*.

*Time:* 1st, March, 2013.

*Venue:* Grand Convention Hall, NEU.

*For the success of the workshop, the NEU would like sir/madam submit
papers, focusing on the following topics:*

1.      Theoretical and practical dimensions of ECC;

2.      Impacts of climate change on the economy;

3.      Economics of climate change mitigation and adaptation in the world
and Vietnam;

4.      Climate change policies and their economic impacts in the world and
Vietnam;

5.      Cost - benefit analysis of climate change adaptation strategies,
policies and programs.

Each paper should be within 10 to 15 pages in length with font Times New
Roman, size 12, sending to: *dinhductruong at yahoo.com* *before 15-02-2013.**
**Papers will be selected for the workshop proceeding*.

A book on "Climate Change and Coastal Livelihoods" (in Vietnamese), by Prof.
Tran Tho Dat and Vu Thi Hoai Thu, was recently published by VDF (Vietnam
Development Forum). The book covers issues related to global climate change,
its impacts on coastal areas, vulnerability of coastal livelihoods, capacity
of households to cope with and adapt to changes in their livelihoods
associated with climate change, and government policies to support household
adaptive capacity. These issues are presented from theory to practice,
including international experiences and Vietnam's case studies as well. For
