[Ngo Climate Change] Announcement: Mekong ARCC's Pre-Solicitation

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am the Communications Officer of USAID-funded Mekong ARCC Program. I 
explore your website http://www.directoryofngos.org and would like to know 
if we can post the opportunities/RFP news on your website. 

Briefly to you, the Mekong Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change or 
so called "Mekong ARCC" project is a five- year program (2011-2016) funded 
by the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) in Bangkok and 
implemented by DAI in partnership with the International Centre for 
Environmental Management (ICEM) and World Resources Institute (WRI). The 
project addresses information and policy gaps to provide communities in 
the Mekong River basin with the guidance and support they need to develop 
sustainable integrated adaptation plans that will increase their ability 
to cope with the negative impacts of climate change. The project supports 
activities in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao and is headquartered in 
Bangkok, Thailand. The primary goal of Mekong ARCC is "Increase adaptation 
capacity and resilience of communities to the negative impacts of climate 
change".   This will be achieved through five main tasks, the foundation 
of which is a Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Study.

We are going to announce RFP / call for proposals shortly. Below is the 
pre-solicitation that we would like to share among your network:

Planned Call for Proposals to implement USAID Mekong ARCC’s Adaptation 
Initiatives
The USAID-funded Mekong Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change 
(Mekong ARCC) program is planning to invite firms, non-governmental 
organizations, research institutions, universities and other organizations 
to submit proposals to serve as Implementing Partners (IPs) to provide 
technical assistance and support to our local communities to carry out 
Ecosystem and Community-based Climate Adaptation and Resilience Building 
Initiatives (Adaptation Initiatives) in designated ‘hotspot’ provinces in 
the Lower Mekong Basin, covering Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam.
