Shared Waters Partnership (SWP) Mekong Workshops: Water-Food Security in
Cambodia and Vietnam Delta

SIWI/UNDP is pleased to announce the Shared Waters Partnership (SWP) Mekong
Workshops: Water-Food Security in Cambodia and Vietnam Delta, December 2-3 &
December 5-6, 2013.

The SWP continues to work on food security Two workshops will be held in
Phnom Penh, Cambodia (December 2-3) together with the Cambodia Development
Resource Institute (CDRI), and Can Tho, Vietnam (December 5-6) together with
the Mekong Delta Development Research Institute (MDI, part of Can Tho
University) with experts in fisheries, agriculture and livelihoods. Cambodia
and the Vietnamese Delta are the most sensitive areas for food security due
to alteration of the Mekong mainstream. The aim of workshops is to bring
together national/local stakeholders based in Cambodia and Vietnam to
discuss food security to promote science-based decision making and to
support local capacity building for understanding the water-food security
complexity. [Please see the Concept Note more information]
