Dear Colleagues,

As you know, shrimp culture provides a critical livelihood resource to many
farmers in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam. Increased temperature at the end of
the dry season and sudden changes in water salinity due to heavy rains are
reported to increase shrimp fatality, reducing yields.

Check out this blog article entitled, "Small-scale Farmers in the Mekong
Delta on the Front Line of Actions to Adapt to Climate Change
<http://mekongarcc.net/blog/small-scale-farmers-mekong-delta-front-line-acti
ons-adapt-climate-change> ". The USAID Mekong ARCC Project's aquaculture
specialist Jesper H. Clausen shares his experience meeting with the
villagers in Thuan Hoa in Vietnam's Kien Giang Province. He is taking steps
to work with communities in Vietnam Mekong Delta to implement adaptive
responses, particularly on aquaculture, at the local level in the face of
climate change.

Under the USAID Mekong ARCC Project, we are linking science to local
knowledge with local people of Kien Giang Province. Learn more about our
site <http://mekongarcc.net/node/241> in Vietnam.

Feel free to share your thoughts and exchange feedback regarding the
adaptation strategies for communities in Vietnam Mekong Delta.

Thanks & Best regards,

USAID Mekong ARCC Project
