[Ngo Climate Change] Launching Workshops of Capacity Building Projects for VNGOCC Network and FLEGT Network

Dear  CCWG members,

I would like to inform you that SRD will be holding two launching  and planning workshops  for capacity building projects on behalf of the VNGO&CC -Network and FLEGT-Network respectively next week.

VNGO &CC Network
The project ¡°Strengthening the role of VNGOs in climate change communication and policy advocacy¡± is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade ¨C DFAT (previously referred to as AusAID), with the aim to further improve the effectiveness of climate change programs and activities supporting vulnerable communities, through encouraging a more active engagement of VNGOs in policy formation and implementation processes.

FLEGT Network
Capacity Building Project on the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) between the government of Vietnam and the European Union as part of FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade)
In 2014, with funding from the EU, DFID and FAO, the VNGO-FLEGT network will implement three capacity-building projects related to VPA/FLEGT, including (i) Promoting Good Governance in the Forest Sector; (ii) Strengthening capacity of CSOs and forest-dependent communities to effectively participate in the VPA process; and (iii) Promoting FLEGT in SE Asia through proactive CSO engagement.
