Dear CCWG members,
It is our pleasure to announce an advanced course on “Gender mainstreaming in climate change adaptation design” which is developed based on a Training Need Assessment on Gender mainstreaming among CCWG members early this year. The course is organized by CCWG and USAID-funded Vietnam Forests and Deltas program.
1. Purpose:
- To provide update gender mainstreaming approaches, requirements and successful initiatives of international donors, governments, and NGOs in climate change adaptation;
- To facilitate discussion on tailoring gender mainstreaming methods and tools in climate change adaptation program designs to the context of Vietnam;
- To discuss on advocacy and cooperation opportunities in relation to gender mainstreaming in climate change policies and regulations of different sectors (agriculture, education, natural resource management, etc)
2. Target Audiences: SENIOR STAFFS or GENDER FOCAL PERSONS of CCWG members, other Vietnamese NGOs, as well as officials from Government's stakeholders who are working in climate change sector. Please be noted that all enrolled participants are expected to have basic understands of gender concepts and gender issues.
3. Language: English
4. Time: the 1st- 3rd July 2015. The agenda will be shared with the enrolled participants 1 week before the training
5. Location: in Hanoi. The specific address will be sent to you soon.
6. Cost: The organizers will cover trainers and organizational cost, including venue, materials and lunch. Other costs which might occurs for participants outside Hanoi (such as perdiem and accommodation) will be paid by the participants
7. Trainers:
Key trainer: Ms. Irene Dankelman is currently the director of IRDANA advice – a consultancy firm on Gender, Environment and Sustainable development and a senior lecturer on Sustainable Development at University of Nijmegen, Netherlands. She used to be a visiting professor Gender and Environment (incl. climate change) for UN University of Peace, Costa Rica.
Particularly, she has been involved as researchers, trainers, and policy adviser on gender and climate change in many countries and in Vietnam with governments, international donors, and UN agencies.
Her valuable contribution to Gender Equality in Climate change was recognized with awards of UNEP Champion of the Earth 2006 .
Co-facilitator: Mr. Huynh Ngoc Minh is the Director and Founder of SUCCESS Training Company. He is a professional trainer and coach who have years of experiences working with NGOs as well as enterprises. Mr. Minh possess excellent facilitation skills and the competence to inspire the learning and sharing process.

The selection will be done based on eligibility and availability of seats at the submission time. So the earlier you register, the better chance to secure your participation.
