[Ngo Climate Change] GFMER - Training Course in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research (SRH 2015)

Dear Partners and Healthcare Professionals,

 

Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD), a country partner of the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research (GFMER), gladly introduces the online training course on research methodology in sexual and reproductive health for 2015: "From Research to Practice: Training in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research" organized by GFMER in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).

 

This course is an appropriate training package that meets the needs of health care providers and other professionals involved in research in many countries.

The course aims to provide health professionals with knowledge, skills and competencies in sexual and reproductive health as well as research in this field. It is especially suited for those health care providers whose access to learning is limited by time, financial resources or other constraints and for whom access to quality education in the field of sexual and reproductive health is limited.

About the Course

This is a 7-month distance learning online training course (from May to November). Eligible candidates are all health professionals, paramedical staff, project planners and managers in health-related areas and social scientists. 

Course Contents:
1) A core module on Research methodology;
2) Maternal and perinatal health;
3) Sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS;
4) Family planning;
5) Adolescent sexual and reproductive health;
6) Community genetics;
7) Sexual and Reproductive Rights.

Course structure consists of lectures, presentations, links to resource documents and recommended readings. A personal coach is assigned to each course participant and facilitates the learning process.  
Module Validation:
In order to validate a module the participants are required to develop a written assignment and answer a series of Multiple Choice Questions.

Certification:
At the end of the course, the participants are required to produce a research project with the assistance of their tutor. The successful participants will be rewarded a certificate.

Workshop in Geneva:
The top 15 participants will be selected and invited to attend a 1-week intensive workshop at the WHO office in Geneva. The GFMER provides scholarships to the authors of the best research projects from developing countries.
