Colombia and Peru are countries rich in natural resources, particularly those in the forest sector. The region has experienced considerable economic growth over the past decade, driven by mining, agriculture and other export commodities, resulting in a significant decrease in poverty. However growth has come at the cost of natural capital erosion and environmental degradation, impacting local livelihoods. To help countries find ways to turn risks into green growth opportunities, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) has launched their Green Growth Potential Assessment (GGPA) tool.
Join the GGKP for a webinar on 1 November from 3:00pm - 4:30pm (Geneva time) to learn more about this new tool and the ways in which it has been applied to unlock green growth potential in Colombia and Peru. Webinar participants will learn about the tool itself and hear cases studies on how it has been used to assist governments in preparing long-term national green growth strategies. Experts from the Colombian government and from UN Environment will comment more broadly on the usefulness of tools and data in helping to inform green growth policy.
