Dear SUMERNET partners,

Here is another grant opportunity that you might be interested in:

SERVIR-Mekong Grants Program

SERVIR-Mekong has launched a small grants program, funded by USAID. The objective of this program is to expand SERVIR-Mekong’s network of organizations, universities, and institutions in the Lower Mekong region and to generate innovative ideas for applying earth observation data and geospatial methods/tools for decision-making in the Lower Mekong region. The anticipated outcome of the grant activities is to translate science into sustainable policy and practice that addresses the development challenges posed by climate stresses. There are currently 2 grant opportunities, both with deadlines on 4 October 2016.

1) Climate change focused research in the Lower Mekong Region
SERVIR-Mekong invites organizations to submit applications for research grants within four (4) technical areas in the Lower Mekong Region: land cover/land use
& ecosystems, water resources & disasters, food security, and weather & climate. The objective is to produce ideas for geospatial solutions to complex environmental problems in the above technical areas. The grants are expected to be for up to 9 months.

2) Gender & GIS in the Lower Mekong Region
SERVIR-Mekong invites gender-focused organizations and geospatial application developers to submit applications for grant activities focused on the intersection of gender and geospatial technology in relation to improving environmental management and resilience to climate change in the Lower Mekong region. The grants are expected to be for up to 9months.
