An example of this is the import tariff set on the importation of Electric vehicles, scooters & bikes into Vietnam.<b> The tariff +VAT is across the board 100%. </b></i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div><i>How can other international governments ever believe the Vietnamese government is serious about lowering its carbon emissions when it penalizes those Vietnamese who try to lower their emission by purchasing an electric mode of transport with unjustifiable tariffs. And how can international organizations and governments ever give the Vietnamese government large amounts of climate change money & resources when it is for no real reason (their is no electric vehicle manufacturing industry in Vietnam to protect) protecting the fossil fuel vehicle manufacturing industry in Vietnam. </i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div><i>The Vietnamese government must urgently lift these misplaced tariffs on electric vehicles to prove to the rest of the world and the people of Vietnam that it is serious about lowering its carbon emissions and improving the air quality of its major cities.</i></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Paul Phillips<br></div><div><a href="mailto:paul@worldclimatechangechallenge.com">paul@worldclimatechangechallenge.com</a></div><div><br></div>
