90 million, ranked 13th globally, of which 33% reside in urban areas.
Currently, there are 708 urban areas, expected to double by 2020, and urban
population reaches 50% by 2030. Strong economic growth, rapid urbanization and changing
economy structure have caused serious degradation of living environment and put
greater pressures on water resources.<span style="outline:0px"></span></span></p><p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;text-align:justify;line-height:12.25pt;vertical-align:baseline"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;color:rgb(112,112,112)"> </span></p>

in the theme <i>“Water for Cities”</i> which
reflected international attention on urban water issues and encouraged actions
by governments, organizations, communities, and individuals around the world to
engage actively in addressing the challenges. In addition, the theme of World Water Day 2013
was selected as <i>“Water Cooperation</i></span><i>”</i> to emphasize the need to strengthen water cooperation and sharing among stakeholders
in global scale toward sustainable development.</p><p style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;text-align:justify;line-height:12.25pt;vertical-align:baseline"><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;color:rgb(112,112,112)"> </span></p>

for urban sustainability and under auspice of <b>Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE)</b>, key water
sector organizations in Vietnam including National Center for Water Resources
Planning & Investigation (NAWAPI), Hanoi University of Natural
Resources & Environment (HUNRE), and National Dept. of Water Resources
Management (DWRM) cooperate with their various international partners to organize

those engaged in development of innovative water solutions and tools for
