Today, <b>November 6</b> <b>(Thursday)</b>, Oxfam is launching our global campaign focused on Climate Change Adaptation - Disaster Risk Reduction (CCA-DRR), called
</span><span style="font-family:"Oxfam Global Headline","serif";color:purple">#MakeTheRightMove.
</span><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">This Asian-led campaign is launched in time with the first anniversary of typhoon Haiyan on November 8, which devastated millions of people and livelihoods in the Philippines. We have produced
a series of policy and campaign products to push governments to do more and make the right move to help communities build their resilience and prepare for extreme weather events brought about by climate change.

Why is this so important?</span> <span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">

About two third of the world’s population live in Asia, and according to studies, Asia is the most disaster-prone region in the world. If no action is taken, countries will suffer, resulting to economic growth reversal across the region. Climate related disasters
and food crises are devastating thousands of lives and holding back development across Asia today.</span>

<span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""><br>
We call on governments to stop talking and start acting to protect their citizens -- for the governments and other institutions to</span><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"OCR A Extended"">
</span><span style="font-family:"Oxfam Global Headline","serif";color:purple">#MakeTheRightMove</span><b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">.
</span></b><span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">Because if not addressed, climate change could set back the region's development. If
<b> </b>vulnerability is not addressed, typhoon and disaster-affected communities will remain in harm’s way – exposed to future disasters and deeper poverty. Governments across Asia must urgently ramp up engagement with vulnerable groups at risk and support
local government with practical well-funded support for climate resilient development. Some governments in Asia are adopting relevant plans and strategies but these do not have the urgently-needed impact as they do not involve or target the most vulnerable,
are gender blind, not sufficiently clear or financed, and are not implemented at local levels due to a lack of clarity and leadership. As delivery falters, communities and especially women, continue to suffer. .</span>

We are also using the social media (Facebook and Twitter) to entice <b>public action</b> to put pressure to those in power, to do more in supporting communities and addressing the impact of climate change. We are launching the selfie-tool that you can use for
