JOB OPPORTUNITY

Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a non-profit, is a global organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to more than 420,000 patients in 36 countries. We are the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care in the U.S.

AHF Asia Bureau which is based in Cambodia is implementing its projects in seven country offices including Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Vietnam. We are now looking for competent person to fulfill a position of Deputy Bureau Chief - Asia. This position will be based in one of the countries listed above (except Cambodia) and require frequently travel to other Asia countries.
Qualifications and experiences:

  *   Advanced degree or MBA degree
  *   10 years or more of experiences in senior management position with significant field management, operations and program development
  *   Very good knowledge and understanding in health program sector especially HIV/AIDS in Asia as well as working knowledge of the program priorities of the Country Offices and Asia.
  *   Substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control and securing and managing grants
  *   Solid project management and analysis skills
  *   Ability to think creatively to solve problems and find effective and efficient ways to accomplish goals
  *   Ability to make decisions, work under pressure on a number of competing tasks and meet deadlines
  *   Ability to work successfully in a complex political environment and on sensitive issues
  *   Willingness to travel to implementation countries/sites for technical monitoring and supervision visits
  *   Excellent people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment which encourages team-working
  *   Previous experience of managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
Desirable:

  *   Advanced degree in Public Health or Master degree of Business Administration, or Management
  *   Post graduate Master degree in Public Health, Management, Development or other social sciences
  *   An in depth understanding of national and international development issues in particular in relation to HIV/AIDS
  *   Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  *   Fluency in written and spoken English
  *   Excellent personal organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
