The Young Health Programme (YHP) is AstraZeneca's global community investment initiative. It has a unique focus on young people and primary prevention of the most common non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as type 2 diabetes, cancer, heart and respiratory disease, and mental and neurological health conditions.

In Vietnam, the YHP is implemented by Plan International Vietnam in partnership with Department of Physical Education - Ministry of Education and Training. The programme will be running for a period of 3 years from 6.2023 to 12.2025. The overall goal of the YHP in Vietnam is to contribute to improved health and well-being of young people between 10-24 years old in Vietnam. Specifically, it aims to ensure that young people in Vietnam have increased knowledge about NCD prevention and NCD risk factors and increased greater capacity to make informed decisions about their health.

1. Project objectives:
The programme has the following four objectives:

  *   Young people have increased knowledge and capacity on NCD prevention to protect and promote their long-term health
  *   Communities are informed and mobilized to provide a safe and supportive environment that facilitates healthy behavior among young people
  *   Health services have the capacity to support the health of young people, including accessible and quality youth friendly services
  *   Laws and policies support NCD prevention and promote the broader health of young people
Plan International Vietnam is looking for a consultant team to contextualize our international materials to be a comprehensive and suitable materials for Vietnam. After the materials to be finalize, the consultant team will conduct training for the three targeted groups: Project Peer educators, Parents and Teachers in Hanoi.

2. Deliverables:
Consultant team will be expected to hand over the following materials:

  *   A finalized PE training manual, which has been adopted to be suitable with Vietnamese context. The manual needs to be approved by Plan and MOET.
  *   Training materials for peer education training: slides, handouts
  *   Training materials for teacher training: slides and handouts
  *   Training materials for parents: slides and handouts
  *   Three reports of the three training groups

3. Timeframe:
This consultant team needs to conduct several tasks:

  *   Adaptation of Global Manuals on NCD prevention (including Emotional Wellbeing), Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights to be a comprehensive manual, which is suitable with Vietnamese context
  *   Training for the three targeted groups: October 2023 to March 2024

An itemized budget which indicates the estimated persons to deliver all the required tasks, the total working days and consultancy rate. The fees will be negotiated and applied following Plan Vietnam regulation.
