Local Gender Coach

Position: Local Gender Coach (Consultant contract)

Organization: GIZ

Location: Viet Nam / Remote

Duration: 12 months - flexible working time

Project context:

The Lighthouse Project "Gender in TVET" is part of GIZ's Viet Nam portfolio, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für lnternationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The project aims to support positive transformation of TVET institutions in the region toward gender equality by equipping TVET personnel in ASEAN with strong gender-transformative mindsets and competences.

In Viet Nam, as a first step, the Lighthouse project "Gender in TVET" will provide selected TVET colleges with a gender-transformative coaching series for teachers and managers as a target group. The Lighthouse Project will take place from early 2024 to mid-2025. We are looking for a professional coach/expert who will collaborate with us to implement our planned activities in Viet Nam.

Tasks description:

  *   Participate in gender training sessions with international coaching consultancy
  *   Adapt and further develop coaching materials for project-specific context
  *   Deliver group coaching sessions (virtual and in person)
  *   Deliver individual coaching sessions (virtual and in person)
  *   Provide flexible coaching sessions on request
  *   Participate in regular meetings to update project progress

Requirements:

  *   Certified coach with coaching credentials and minimum experience of at least two years working as a coach
  *   Strong background in gender, firm understanding of prevalent gender (in)equality, gender stereotypes and biases in the context of Viet Nam
  *   Possess a gender-transformative/open mindset (open to gender diversity, feminism, inclusion and LGBTQIA+ topics)
  *   Experience with coaching for working adults, preferably teachers or officers in the education and training sector
  *   Preferably knowledge and experience in the field of education and/or TVET
  *   Experience with international development project work
  *   Fluent in English and Vietnamese (at least C1)
  *   Willingness to travel to TVET Colleges in Central and Southern Vietnam (travel costs will be reimbursed)
