Hôm qua, ngày 23 tháng 12 năm 2013, Cục Bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học đã phối hợp với Trung tâm Thông tin tình nguyện Việt Nam (VVIRC), Trung ương Đoàn Thanh niên cộng sản HCM đã tổ chức "Hội thảo tập huấn tăng cường nhận thức của thanh niên về bảo tồn động vật hoang dã" cho các lãnh đạo và điều phối viên của các câu lạc bộ tình nguyện và cán bộ Đoàn thanh niên cơ sở từ tất cả các tỉnh thành phía Bắc. Mục đích của khóa tập huấn là trang bị cho các nhà lãnh đạo trẻ những kiến thức và thông tin cần thiết, nhằm giúp phát triển và thực hiện các kế hoạch hành động nâng cao nhận thức về bảo vệ động vật hoang dã tại địa phương và các địa bàn hoạt động.

Tại Hội thảo, các bạn đoàn viên, thanh niên được cung cấp kiến thức cơ bản về tầm quan trọng và công tác quản lý, bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học; hiện trạng buôn bán và tiêu thụ động vật hoang dã tại Việt Nam; và các kỹ năng cơ bản để nhận dạng các loài động vật hoang dã thường bị buôn bán. 

Tại hội thảo, các học viên cũng đã thảo luận sôi nổi về các ý tưởng xây dựng kế hoạch truyền thông của đội, nhóm, câu lạc bộ tại các tỉnh, địa phương nhằm tăng cường bảo vệ động vật hoang dã. Các ý tưởng đề xuất của các nhóm đều rất sáng tạo, trẻ trung và có phương pháp tiếp cận phù hợp với từng nhóm đối tượng. Cụ thể, khi truyền thông cho các em học sinh tiểu học, các bạn đã sử dụng trực quan sinh động để truyền tải thông điệp như sử dụng các loại biển báo: biển cẩm, biến chỉ dẫn và biển cảnh báo để lồng ghép các thông điệp và hình ảnh về các loài được bảo vệ và nghiêm cấm săn bắt hoặc hiện trạng của loài…

 

Các bạn trẻ cũng rất mong muốn được cung cấp thêm các nguồn thông tin và tài liệu để tăng cường kiến thức hỗ trợ cho các hoạt động tuyên truyền tới cộng đồng; đồng thời lồng ghép nội dung truyền thông về bảo tồn động vật hoang dã vào các hoạt động và chương trình mà các câu lạc bộ, đội nhóm đã và đang triển khai như chương trình Mùa hè xanh tình nguyện, chương trình hiến máu…

Cục Bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học sẽ tiếp tục phối hợp với Trung ương Đoàn TNCSHCM để hỗ hoàn thiện việc xây dựng và triển khai các kế hoạch mà các nhóm đưa ra trong năm 2014 và các năm tiếp theo.

Hội thảo tập huấn là hoạt động tiếp theo của Cục Bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học phối hợp với Trung ương Đoàn trong khuôn khổ Dự án WLC nhằm huy động và tăng cường vai trò của lực lượng thanh niên trong việc nâng cao nhận thức cộng đồng và giảm nhu cầu tiêu thụ các loài động vật hoang dã./.

 Yesterday on December 23, 2013 Biodiversity Conservation Agency (BCA) partnered with the Vietnam Volunteer Information Resource Center (VVIRC), Central Youth Union to deliver a training workshop for the leaders and coordinators of Youth Union volunteer clubs from all the northern provinces in Vietnam. The purpose of the training was to equip young leaders with the necessary skills and information to enable them to develop and implement local action plans for wildlife protection and awareness activities in their provinces.

 The workshop included training on the importance and management of biodiversity conservation, information on the problem of wildlife consumption and trade in Vietnam, and basic skills to identify commonly traded wildlife species. This was followed by a discussion session to facilitate the leaders in formulating their ideas for local communication action plans and activities. Many innovative and fresh ideas had been proposed with appropriate approach to different targeted groups. For example, to target elementary school students, conservation messages are communicated via images and visualization. Traffic signs including instruction, prohibition and warning signs are used to integrate messages and images of species priotized for protection and prohibited for hunting or status of the wild population and many others. They also expressed the need for additional sources of information and materials to improve their knowledge for better communication to the community; they suggested to integrate wildlife conservation contents into their current programs and activities such as Volunteer Green Summer or Blood donation and so on.

BCA will continute to work with the Central Youth Union to support the development and implementation of the proposed plans in 2014 and the coming years.

The workshop is the next cooperation activity between BCA and the Central Youth Union under WLC project to mobilize and increase the involvement of the youth in the communication activities for raising public awareness and reducing wildlife consumption./.
