[wildtrade] Press Release for Rhino Event

Dear Sir/Madam,

Today, September 20, the press conference “World Rhino Day 2013 – Rhino
horn is not a magical medicine or a status symbol” was held at the Hanoi
Press Club, Vietnam.

 With World Rhino Day only two days away, the press conference marked the
return of a Vietnamese National Assembly member, a well-known journalist, a
movie star and a senior Environmental Police officer from their recent
ten-day working visit to South Africa, where they directly observed the
impacts of the international illegal rhino horn trade.

 The Vietnamese delegation included Mr. Vo Tuan Nhan (National Assembly
member and Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and
Environment), Vice Chief of the Hanoi Environmental Police Mr. Nguyen
Viet Tien, journalist Mr. Do Doan Hoang, and actor and comedian
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Bac, along with representatives from the Vietnamese
wildlife conservation organization, Education for Nature – Vietnam
(ENV).The press conference also featured Mr. Andrew Paterson, director
of the
South African non-profit organization the Rhinose Foundation, which
partnered with ENV to make the trip possible.

 Comedian Xuan Bac was also formally recognized as a Rhino Ambassador for
ENV. He pledged to drive home the message to his fans and the Vietnamese
public that they must say NO to rhino horn before it is too late for the
world’s remaining rhinos.
