*Hội thảo công bố các kết quả nghiên cứu trong khuôn khổ dự án WLC*

Chiều ngày 8 tháng 9 năm 2014, tại Hà Nội, Tổng cục Môi trường, Bộ Tài
nguyên và Môi trường đã tổ chức Hội thảo công bố kết quả nghiên cứu mới đây
về nhận thức, thái độ và hành vi sử dụng động vật hoang dã ở Việt Nam và
 kết quả rà soát pháp lý và chính sách về quản lý và bảo tồn các loài ĐVHD
nguy cấp, quý, hiếm.

Hoạt động nghiên cứu này được thực hiện bởi một nhóm chuyên gia thuộc Viện
Xã hội học, Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học xã hội Việt Nam và Trung tâm Nghiên cứu
Pháp luật và Chính sách Phát triển Bền vững (LPSD) trong khuôn khổ của dự
án “Tăng cường công tác bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học thông qua cải cách chính
sách và thay đổi thực trạng tiêu thụ các loài động vật hoang dã (ĐVHD) ở
Việt Nam” (Dự án WLC) do Quỹ Môi trường toàn cầu (GEF) tài trợ thông qua
Ngân hàng Thế giới (WB).

Với ý nghĩa đó, Hội thảo đã nhận được sự quan tâm tham dự của hơn 80 đại
biểu là các cán bộ lãnh đạo, quản lý; cán bộ phụ trách công tác thực thi
pháp luật liên quan đến động vật hoang dã; các nhà khoa học, cán bộ nghiên
cứu thuộc các lĩnh vực liên quan và các phóng viên đến từ nhiều tờ báo,
kênh truyền hình lớn.

*The Workshop lauching research findings under WLC project*

On September 8th, 2014, in Hanoi, The Vietnam Environment Administration
(VEA), under the Ministry of Nature Resource and Environment (MONRE) hosted
a workshop to release the result of recent study on wildlife consumption
attitudes and behaviours in Vietnam and the result of an in-depth review of
the current policy and legal framework for the management and conservation
of endangered, rare and precious wildlife species.

The study was conducted by a research team of the Institute of Sociology
under Vietnam Academy of Social Sciencesas and the Law and Policy of
Sustainable Development Research Center in the framework of the project
“Wildlife Consumption in Vietnam: Reforming policies and practices to
strengthen biodiversity conservation” (WLC Project), funded by the Global
Environment Facility (GEF) via the World Bank.

The workshop was received the attention and attendance by over 80 delegates
who are leaders, managers; law enforcement officials related to wildlife;
Scientists, researchers  and reporters from various newspapers and TV
station.
