Recently, Vietnam’s authorities have uncovered many cases of pangolin smuggling and trade. Between 2012 and the end of 2014, ENV has documented more than 34.3 tons of frozen pangolins and pangolin scales seized by authorities in Hai Phong alone. The consumer demand for pangolin scales and meat as food and in traditional medicine has increased in Vietnam.
