The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has approved a plan to spend VND30 billion ($1.6 million) for urgent anti-flood projects, the Thoi bao Ngan hang newspaper reported Dec. 23. The move is aimed at preventing waterlog and floods the city is facing, state media reported. Currently, the city is implementing four ODA-funded projects capitalized at $1 billion to cope with floods in the inner city. The city now has 100 submerged places with 61 in the inner city.
