The Food and Agricultural Products Quality Development and Control Project (FAPQDC) funded by Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) during 2008-2013 has been implemented by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with University of Montreal, Canada. The general objective of the FAPQDC project is to improve the quality, safety and marketability of agricultural food products through strengthened application of good production practices (GPP) and quality control systems. The project is looking for a qualified, dynamic and highly motivated Vietnamese individual to contribute to project activities and to meet the challenging demands of the following position based in Hanoi: Marketing and Communication Specialist. The selected candidate will work full-time at the Project Management Unit (PMU) starting July 2010 for a one-year contract with extension possibility.
Marketing and Communication Specialist
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
The person will work closely with PMU, experts of technical committees (Vietnamese and Canadian) and timely recruited private consultants and firms:
- Facilitate and participate in the development of marketing tools (branding, logos, labeling, etc.)
- Facilitate and participate in the development of communication campaigns promoting food safety awareness
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the implementation of marketing strategies and activities at pilot projects
- Facilitate and participate in the development and execution of campaign strategies including the creative concept development of mass media (TV, outdoor, print), mid media (events), targeted media (brochures, flipcharts, activities, posters), and innovative use of new media (internet)
- Manage and update the project’s database system and website’s content
- Collect, update, document and disseminate the project’s information and materials with support from project team
- Develop and maintain good relations with local authority partners and stakeholders
- Undertake fieldtrips to project pilot areas
- Support translation of documents as may required by the Project
- Carry out other relevant duties as may required by the Project.
Requirements:
- University degree in business administration, marketing and communications, economic, e-commerce or a similar field, master degree is preferable
- Significant demonstrated experience (at least 5 years) in implementation of communication campaigns, e-commerce, and marketing techniques
- Direct experience in the agri-food sector will be an asset
- Inspirational and creative thinker with communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English and Vietnamese
- Excellent computer skills
- Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a professional manner
- Strong ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and in a team
