The Vietnamese government said on its website that it has set a target to supply clean water to dwellers of all urban areas across the country by 2025 with an average volume of 120 liters of clean water per person a day. The Southeast Asian country also expects to provide an adequate volume of clean water to industrial zones sustainably by 2050. To achieve the targets, the government will apply new technologies to use more surface water than underground water in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other big cities. In addition, new water supply networks will be built in provinces and cities. Vietnam also is reinforcing drainage systems to prevent flooding during the rainy season.
