Location: Lao Cai
Terms: Contract work, 2-3 weeks work per month for duration of eight months

The Role: We are seeking a qualified IC based in Lao Cai to fill the need in Agriculture and Livestock Technical Project. The IC is responsible for carrying out project activities including training in agriculture and livestock rearing for Health and Livelihoods programming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Programming
- Conduct trainings and provide support on activities related to veterinary medicine, animal husbandry specifically work with chickens, and cultivating a home garden
- Ensure the technical requirements on veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, and vegetable cultivation are met; ensure the disease control for the livestock of the project
- Develop suitable lesson plans for the training courses in livelihoods, livestock raising technique and vegetable cultivation based on available teaching materials and in line with the project goals
- Report on activities and ensure budgets are spent appropriately and according to donor requirements
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by SPV from time to time
Monitoring
- Establish beneficiary criteria, assist with selection of beneficiaries, then monitoring beneficiaries, livestock, and gardens
- Determine quality livestock for project, teach on standard livestock housing, and assist with building livestock housing
- Determine home garden location, proper vegetables for the environment, and proper cultivation of garden for maximum impact and vegetable growth to improve nutrition for beneficiaries
QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Background in Veterinary studies, animal husbandry and agriculture
- Experience in leading participatory workshops/trainings in areas of livelihood and/or health
- Fluency in Vietnamese; Good knowledge of English is a strong asset
- Ability to travel around the highlands including remote villages in varying weather conditions to carry out project activities.
- High level of integrity; Strong financial management experience preferred.
