Organization: Plan International Vietnam, re-established in 1993, is an international child-centered community development organization working in 73 countries. Plan is working in partnership with local people; organizations and government bodies to help children in Vietnam meet their basic needs as well as expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
Project: The Empowering Women and Youth through Graduation and Financial Inclusion project will extend Trickle Up and the MetLife Foundation’s current partnership to three new countries: Bangladesh, Vietnam and Mexico. The objective of this broader partnership is to promote evidence-based livelihood development strategies and financial inclusion for the most excluded segments of the population living in extreme conditions of poverty. This project will include a strong focus on gender justice and youth development while building in a learning component that aims to contribute to the knowledge base of the broader Graduation community as it relates to youth and gender-focused design of programs. The project will include demonstration pilots for scale in the Barisal division in Bangladesh, Quang Tri and Kon Tum provinces in Vietnam, and the states of Oaxaca and Chiapas in Mexico.
This 3 year project funded by Trickle Up and MetLife Foundations will be implemented in 14 communes (7 communes in Dakrong, Huong Hoa District) Quang Tri Province and (7 communes in Konplong and KonRay District) Kontum Province.
Project Goals:
- To deliver a holistic package of Graduation interventions to 1,000 ultra-poor women and youth between the ages of 18-34
- To increase access to financial inclusion package of interventions to 6000 very poor women and youth
- To leverage research and learning to date from the Graduation Approach to refine and test context-specific variations in design and cost-effective mechanisms for scale
Plan in Viet Nam is seeking a qualified and experienced consultant or firm to conduct this project baseline, from 4th week of Dec 2017 to Jan 2018. We prefer the consultant be experienced in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, research and social study.
