The Brien Holden Vision Institute is an international NGO, registered in Vietnam, which collaborates with other NGOs and Government departments to ensure good vision outcomes for the people of Vietnam.
The Accountant position has been created to assist in the development and implementation of The Institute’s primary eye care projects in Vietnamand is available on the part-time basis (3 days a week).Please read more about the Institute on our website www.brienholdenvision.org.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Aligned with the Institute’s standard operating procedures, assist with the financial management of the office and all other the Institute’s locations in Vietnam with day to day office accounts
management:
- Prepare and submit weekly payment requests & financial reports
- Monthly Bank reconciliation: input of all financial transactions into Moneyworks (Financial
accounting package)
- Prepare and submit monthly funding request
- Monitor and organize payments for suppliers and creditors
- Manage petty cash account, including reimbursement of material miscellaneous expenses, compiling petty cash reports and monthly acquittals in accordance with finance management policies and principles;
- Liaise with Standard Chartered Bank on payments and liquidation related issues
- Work with the relevant organisations locally on the social and health insurances and taxes
- Prepare and submit any regulatory payments and reports
- Work closely with the Finance team at headquarter to ensure the financial management system is regularly updated and accurate
- Ensure the financial filling management system is regularly updated and accurate
- Monitor financial reporting and acquittal requirements per agreement
- Prepare a standard set of financial statements, including the balance sheet, Income statement and Cash flow statement, on a monthly basis
- Monitor and safeguard fixed assets
- Assist to compile and monitor annual project budgets.
Skills Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese
- Experience with Email system, Microsoft Word, Excel and Accountingsoftware packages
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness and ability to learn
Criteria:
- Qualification in finance /accounting
- Minimum 3 years professional work experience in financing and accounting, preferably in a public health, NGO environment.
