Program Officer
The Asia Foundation is recruiting for a Hanoi-based position: Program Officer, Environmental Governance and Climate Change.
The ideal candidate will be a Vietnamese national with a post-graduate degree in an environmental field and relevant work experience. The candidate should possess a well-rounded understanding of development issues in Vietnam and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as experience designing, implementing and managing development programs.
The position requires:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience;
- A post-graduate degree in an environmental field such as environmental health, environmental planning or sustainable development is preferred. A university degree with significant work experience will be considered.
- Experience working on environmental governance issues.
- Experience in program design and management, financial and grants management, and monitoring and evaluation;
- Experience in working with Vietnamese partner organizations and government agencies to manage the implementation of international donor-funded development projects;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese;
- Ability and willingness to master new areas, to take the initiative and to work collaboratively.
The program officer will be responsible for developing and managing the implementation of Foundation programs in the areas of environmental governance which currently includes environmental dispute resolution, air quality monitoring, disaster risk management and public-private partnerships.
