ACDI/VOCA is a non-profit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security in order to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA has empowered people in developing and transitional nations to succeed in the global economy for 49 years and in 145 countries. In Vietnam, with funding from USAID, ACDI/VOCA is implementing the Sustainable Cocoa Farmers project. To date, ACDI/VOCA has introduced cocoa best agricultural practices to over 22,000 smallholder farmers in 6 provinces in the South and Central Highlands of Vietnam. We are seeking an experienced national to work as the Project Accountant for the ACDI/VOCA Vietnam Office. The estimated start date for this position is Dec 23, 2013 to work through Mar, 2014 with a possibility of extension based on the availability of funding.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accounting systems and procedures in accordance with the program requirements.
- Account for day-to-day Program operating expenditures of all project funds (USDA, USAID, etc.).
- Reconcile accounts with bank statements.
- Responsible for the preparation and consolidation of Monthly Financial Report for all Projects and report to Finance and Office Manager
- Perform banking duties including: correspondences with the bank, deposits, transfers arrangement, cashing cheques, payroll transferred, etc.
- Maintain appropriate inventory records of all equipment/machinery.
- Maintain all payment vouchers, accounting logbooks and supporting documents.
- Collaborate with FOSCO and insurance company on preparing payment of personal income tax, social security, health insurance and other insurance for all project staff.
DUTY STATION: Ho Chi Minh City
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT:
- University graduate in finance, accounting or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in finance or accounting
- Working knowledge of accounting software (Quick book), good computer skills (Excel, Words.).
- Good understanding of financial and accounting policies, standards and associated regulatory issues.
- Work experience with development projects and/or INGOs would be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of English is an advantage.
- Honest, accurate and well-organized.
- Demonstrated capacity and willingness to learn.
